Knot Socks

knot_socks_forward I haven’t been knitting much – it’s just not really a great summer activity!  Or maybe it’s just that my TV shows aren’t on so I don’t sit and knit?   Anyway, I did manage to finish these socks Knot Socks by Nancy Bush over the summer.  I’m actually several months behind on sock projects, but I choose to think of this project as finishing early for fall rather than late for spring.

These socks were another sock knitting project selected by Green Planet Yarn from Ann Budd’s Sock Knitting Master Class.  This was the last club sock pattern from this book.  I’ll be sad to see it go as it’s been an excellent book to work from.  I wasn’t sure I would like this pattern when I started the socks, but I found that it was just the right combination of interesting and relaxing to knit and I liked the results.  I used my favorite Malabrigo yarn in a green/blue colorway called Aguas and my favorite size 0 needles.

  1. I love that cable pattern. I don’t knit much in the summer, either. Knitting is almost entirely a cool/cold weather activity for me, because I’m not motivated to knit until I want something warm to wear. I just got started on my big project for this year, a cabled sweater vest. I thought about it all summer, but didn’t get motivated until the mornings got a little chilly.
