Capture Your 365 (CY365) – January 2015
A year and half ago I got a Canon T3i DSLR camera for my birthday. Since then I’ve taken a couple of classes and done a little experimenting with the camera but haven’t really gotten serious about learning how to use it. This year, in an effort to improve my photography, I’ve started participating in a “Capture Your 365 (CY365)” project. I’m happy to say I made it all the way through January without too much trouble. Only 334 more days to go! Thankfully, we are provided prompts each day. This is really helpful as I think I’d fail quickly if I had to come up with my own ideas. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep it up all year, but I hope so. So far, the more photos I take the less I think I know about photography and the less creative I feel about my photos. I’m hoping by the time the CY365 project is done that I’ll know more and be better at thinking outside the box. The creative work of all the participants is really inspiring!
As with most photography, I take hundreds of pictures but am only really happy with a handful. Thank goodness we have digital photography now and are not waiting for prints! Of the photos I took in January, these are my favorites:
