This is the first quilt I ever started.  A co-worker's mother died and left behind her stash of fabrics.  My co-worker didn't sew, so I inherited the stash.  Unfortunately, being new to quilting I followed the instructions from the pattern in a magazine which called for cutting hundreds of 2 inch squares.  If only I had known about strip piecing!  It took me over a year to finish to top of the quilt and my bag of fabric squares seemed just as large as when I started.  I passed the squares on to my aunt, who made a couple of more quilts with them and still did not use them all up!  Due to its size, I had this quilt professionally machine quilted.
