| When my husband and I first started planning to get married, I said that I would make him a quilt for our bed (a California King, what was I thinking?). He wanted a Celtic design, so I planned this quilt using EQ5 software. We got some of the knots from a "Celtic Quilt Designs" by Philomena Durcan and my husband found the rest in design books or came up with his own knots. I designed the layout and the corner blocks. Since this is a hand appliqué quilt, it wasn't done in time for the wedding and I missed the 2nd anniversary (the "cotton" anniversary) too. However, shortly after our third anniversary, the top was finally done! Since it's so big, I had it professionally quilted. The finished top fits our bed just perfectly. |
