This quilt was started during the third class that I took via Quilt University in June of 2007. The class/pattern is "Arabesque" and was designed and taught by Martine House. This class was quite a learning experience for me as it included several techniques that I haven't used before. I was familiar with appliqué, but much of the embellishment (embroidery, beading, shisha mirrors) as well as the hand quilting and trapunto were all new to me. I worked on this project a day or two a week and finally finished it in October 2007. I'm so glad it's done!
