This is an exercise from The Art Quilt Workbook, by Jane Davila and Elin Waterston. The exercise from this chapter was to create a small quilt with collage. Collage wasn't really working for me, so I created this scrapbook-like piece instead of an abstract collage. I created a comfy chair by fusing pink fabrics in place. Then, I printed pictures of my kitties napping (their main passtime) onto fabric, cut them out and fused them in place on the chair. The letters come from a web font by Catstuff which we found several years ago. The letters were printed out onto fabric and then cut and fused. The quilt states "In My Next Life I Want To Be A Cat". If you could live in luxury like my two, who wouldn't want to be a cat?
