This little wall quilt is based on a British World War II poster that read “Keep Calm and Carry On”. A sewing friend (with 2 little boys) made a quilt of the sign and hung it in her kitchen as inspiration. I loved her quilt, but didn’t want to do the same thing. Not long after, the NY Times wrote an article about this sign, along with several variations. Once I saw the cupcake version, I knew what my quilt would be!
Shortly after making this little quilt, I was commissioned to make another one in a different color palette. The 2nd quilt was requested to be in a soft green with a brown cupcake, pink frosting, and a red cherry. It was fun (and easier) to do the second one and I wish I could keep it!
