Birthday Table Runner

This table runner started out life as a Christmas pattern (Holiday Treats Table Runner) by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes which I purchased after they gave a talk at my guild in June 2007. They also sell a birthday version, but I didn’t see any reason to purchase two such similar patterns.

The original finished pattern size is really big (finished size is supposed to be 26″ x 75″), too big really for most people’s tables I think. I modified the pattern to be much more workable for the average table size. Using happy, sparkly fabrics and some fabric printed with treats was all I needed to make it look like a birthday party instead of a Christmas event. This table runner went quickly for a gift, though I would have liked to have kept it!
